The Gospel

In Romans 1:16 the Apostle Paul says that the Gospel is "the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes."

Every human being has broken God's law and the penalty for our sin is death. (Rom. 6:23) It is from this spiritual death that every human being desperately needs to be saved. The Bible tells us that God is a loving God who wants to save sinners. (2 Pet. 3:9) To save sinful human beings from eternal death, Jesus Christ entered the world and died on the cross for our sins.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

-Romans 5:8

Jesus' body was buried, but 3 days later He rose again proving that He has victory over death and power to save sinners.

Scripture tells us that to be saved each person must repent, or turn away from sin, and trust in Jesus Christ alone as Lord and Savior.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

-Romans 10:9-10
